Jamie Payne is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist who was born, raised, and currently resides in the Chicago suburbs! She attended Central Michigan University and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Communication Disorders and minors in Spanish and Dance. Jamie returned to the Chicago land area to receive her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology at Midwestern University in Downers Grove. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Additionally, she holds her license for the Illinois State Board of Education with a bilingual endorsement in Spanish. Jamie currently works in a public school as a speech pathologist and teaches jazz/hip-hop to children at a dance studio. In these settings, Jamie works with children from preschool to middle school, bilingual (Spanish, English) children, and children with autism and developmental delays. She has a strong understanding of IEPs and school services for speech and language therapy. In her professional career, Jamie is experienced in evaluating and treating speech sound production disorders, childhood Apraxia of Speech, child language (receptive, expressive, pragmatic) delays/disorders, fluency disorders, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Jamie loves to incorporate movement, sensory, and functional components into her therapy sessions with children and their families.
